Begin Your Child’s Musical Journey

Our “Beginner Piano Online” Class is a seven week course that introduces the complete beginner how to play piano.  In taking the course, students will learn the basics of music notation as it pertains to piano, how to play easy 5-finger melodies, easy scale patterns and how to read & play music based on the course book.

The course will cover the fundamentals of music notation.  Students who take the class will learn about reading music on both treble and bass clef.  Students will learn to recognize  different rhythms that include quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes. As participants progress through the course book, they will learn exercises to build finger dexterity, coordination and independence.  Students will meet regularly through the use of Zoom Meeting to connect with the class instructor.

Our instructor will guide each student through the coursework and make age appropriate practice recommendations to promote progress.  Students who participate will have the chance to perform what they practice for teacher and students in the online class. By sharing their musical skills, students will build confidence. They’ll also learn what corrections need to be made to continue to progress!

Music lessons in general are beneficial for young children in a multitude of ways.  Learning an instrument builds confidence in children for the simple fact of learning a new skill.  Continued musical study builds a student’s ability to concentrate, teaches them about strong work ethics and the discipline needed for improvement.  Children who study music also have increased emotional and social awareness, improved reading and comprehension skills and perform better in school.  To read more about music’s positive effects, click HERE.
