Description
The Powell Sonaré 505 Flute
This superior designed flute is made of hand-cut Sterling silver signature II headjoint and a nickel/silver, silver plated body and mechanism. These particular models are designed with offset G keys, modern Powell scale and a B foot joint. The design of the keys are known as “French Pointed”. This design allows a player’s finger pressure to distribute directly to the top and center of the key cup. In doing so, it provides a better seal and quicker action. The pitch on these instruments is A-442 and the tubing thickness is only .016″, making it incredibly lightweight.
The flute mechanism is designed as a Split E Mechanism made of nickel-silver, silver plated just like the body. Additionally, it’s designed as a traditional pinned mechanism with adjustment screws. The springs on the mechanism are made from high-performance elgiloy, a strong, corrosion resistant metal with excellent fatigue life. The headjoint is completely made from sterling silver and the pads employed are traditional felt pads. If that is not all, the Powell Sonaré 505 flute comes with a heavily padded carrying bag and the flute is housed in a hard shell case lined with a silk-like cloth for the interior. Altogether, this flute is the perfect upgrade for any intermediate and advancing flute student.
